I believe this is how it breaks down:
AQUATIC: Lives mostly in water (kinda like aquatic turtles, they live mostly in water but come out to get some sun, being cold blooded and all)
SEMI-AQUATIC: Lives on land but stays close to water (for egg laying purposes I suppose)
LAND FROGS: Spend mostly all of their time on land, not sure but that may include tree frogs.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

aquatic frogs are totally underwater frogs, very rarely coming out of the water. semi-aquatic can go both ways really and tree frogs are in a whole different category. but you're right stray.
